Poem By Francis Santaquilani

And the mountain then:

Human scarecrows

Crusted with concussion

Cling to trees, rocks and debris

Above the clouds,

In their only chance

To nail posterity,

Fire scattershot stares

From deep in dark sockets,

Felling me.
