Damp Tomb

Living in a chrysalis of sadness
Cocooning myself in pain
Living in the shadows of my darkness
Screaming
Writhing
The light
Dwindling back into my hole
Fear of being discovered
Camouflaged the opening with leaves
Forest floor fodder
Inside warm
Fear the fear of what may be
Overwhelming my senses
Further and deeper
I retreat
Always dreaming of the sun
Never seeing it's brilliance
Damp tomb feels gray
Lifeless
Yet I feel oddly safe and calm
Alone
Despair comforts me in my chrysalis
Lonely
