Day is a pixie, Day is an elf.
Day is a sunbeam
Unfolding itself.
It breaks from the starlight
And bathes in the dew.
It dances o'er hilltops
A tryst to renew.
It skips through the valleys
And laughs with the breeze
As it wakes up the fairies
Who live in the trees
Day is a pixie, Day is a sprite
It wears itself out
And turns into night.
