Day Song

Poem By Lance Abellon

The sun is rising;

the hope gets renewed
wakes me breathing

through the air that passes my lungs
going through

my veins and my flesh that wakes me
waking up

with joy unending
that ends sadness

its rising wakes me;

despite the winds of change changing
the old passes away to give way
to the new

I breathe life
as if it lives in the light

I breathe life
in the light of a new day

One Morning, At Waterloo Road

Stop. Look. Listen.
February of 2016.
It was early morning. I am walking at the streets along Waterloo Road.
The wind was cold, the roads were empty, and the signs were clear that I was going to be a great day ahead. Cars were like fast lightning, chasing each other.

When I was little, I like to go to museums.
I stare at each work of art that surrounds me.
One by one, I learn about the history of each work of art and how it was crafted.

To My Future Self

To my future self:

Life has hit you so many times,
That almost led you to banging doors,
