Dear Mom

Bones charred around me
Flesh shriveled ascendingly
Loving the sights, I am free
Mom, why can’t you see?

All the time you thought we had,
all the little mother-daughter fads
We couldn’t be, I said
Because forever more I’m dead

All the people that I had to leave behind
I see them, teeth wearing down from grind
And I know they don’t miss me
but they pretend to be
Infatuated, caught up in this mortality

And when you see me once again
In eternity
I won’t see beyond
Who I could’ve been, who I could be

The life I lived was misery
And now,
Now finally I’m me

Sit me in your chair,
yanking out my own hair
Trying to force the words out
Attempting to release their doubt

Mom, you’re in the back room,
But all I desire is to see the fumes
Watch myself intox
Oxygen deteriorating in my locked box

Fires burning before my eyes
Storm clouds have taken over
The once blue skies
Particles in acid rain

But now Im long gone
and you wake in the morning
to see me during dawn
The pigments rid, i can breathe
I’m flying gone in the heavens, being unseen.
