Death

Yesterday you were with me,
Today I seek you dear.
Where thy words are?
I pine to hear.

Is a man born to toil?
Is a man made of soil?
Is the earth our final goal?
leaves the body, the eternal soul. O Lord! Guide us to live in peace.
Let our souls, in Heaven, release.

Questions of an inquisitive mind and a humble prayer nicely incorporated in this small poem. Thanks for this lovely philosophical presentation.
Very poignant words, emotions filling this poem totally, putting it right into our hearts as we read it. Really great poem! You have the innate ability of touching upon feelings of everyone who reads you, definitely a wonderful gift for a poet to have. You have a poetical friend in this mere poet for sure, I love your poetry! Thank you for sharing your gift with us. RoseAnn
Absolutly beautiful...The emotions that come from this poem are strong and clear. Wonderful and a pleasure to read. Scarred
I had to give this a 7 because there is a translation or question that I have. I assume these are the words of a dying man. If they are, then this piece deserves a better score. If they are not, then the obscurity of the meaning makes my score too generous. Since I cannot say which. I cannot make further commentary. GW62
