Deception

To think that you have found the best,
And find in truth they are like all the rest, Is a heart breaking revelation,
Of such prevalence in our nation!

Superficiality is the norm,
Anger like a storm,
Is all that seems to be,
In the youth of this country!

Misguided leaders push for mediocrity,
Under the guise of equality,
Hiring people because of race,
Instead of those in first place!

This idiocy just to get a vote,
From the race they promote,
So they can stay in power,
Turns my stomach a little sour!

Politics to the very end,
And have a people blend,
Thus mediocre comes to fore,
They don't want intellectuals anymore!
