Departure

Although this land is not my own,
I will remember its inland sea
and the waters that are so cold
the sand as white
as old bones, the pine trees
strangely red where the sun comes down.

I cannot say if it is our love,
or the day, that is ending.

Your words written with a honest pen. Amazing poetry.
The sand as white as old bones. the pine trees strangely red where the sun comes down. Wonderful expressions.
Intensity of emotions has enhances the force of the poem manifold. A great poem.
This is a beautiful poem which seems to be more inspired by the mood of Akhmatova than by her actual words. It is not a literal or accurate translation of AA's late poem. I am reminded of some of Ezra Pound's inaccurate but moving translations from the Chinese.
This translation is very inacurate.
