Did It To Do It Not Sitting To Wish

Those who have earned,
To receive what pleases them...
Did it to do it not sitting to wish.
Or waiting for assistance,
From those tossing rose petals...
On a path to masquerade,
Obstacles to face to fade...
With one's chosen favorite scent.

Those who have earned,
To receive what pleases them...
Did it to do it not sitting to wish.
But did it repeatedly and with tears.
Rolled up sleeves and balled fists.
And sometimes with the hiding,
Of fears one knows they feel to exist...
To know what it is they've earned to get,
Had nothing to do with luck but persistence.
