Do Not Rest On The News You Read

Do not rest on the news you read
It is not real, merely perceived
It is a zillion words unroped
It is the truth, the lie, the damned, the hope
A set of letters chronicling
Witnesses and non-events
As you adapt to turn the page
Do not be drawn on providence
A word beholds the power one grants it
One's own instinct deciphers the content
No stand-alone topic becomes the subject
It has all the hallmarks of paper-weight dreams
So, do not rest upon the news you read
It is not real, 'though it may seem.
