Down The Slippery Slope

Poem By Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Today my head was in a cloud,
My Brain was clogged with fog,
I could not think or plan ahead,
I was encompassed in a smog.

With no will to plan my days ahead,
Not knowing where to go,
If I could clear my Mind today,
My future plans would glow.

What work should I contemplate?
Should I stick to what I know?
Or think of doing something new?
Lest my plans into smoke go.

This daily haze in which I live,
This feeling of no hope,
Is not the way I wish to be,
Nor to slide down the Slippery Slope,

I have been active all my Life,
I have always wished to work,
But now the Future seems so bleak,
But from Work I will not shirk.

The clouds do darken, the rain does drop
I wonder when its going to stop.
The pitter-patter of rain does fall
Against my windows, against my wall.

Why are we addicted to Poetry?
We Poets who write,
All day or all night,

I Will Obey Him Whilst I Can

I wander down my Path in Life,
Glad that HE has made me so,
Content to live it as HE wishes,
Knowledgeable of HIS Will Sublime.

In Praise Of Fellow Poets

I have met many poets on these sites,
English speaking from around the World,
Who place their poems on these Urls,
Day-by-day, and night-by-night.

Memory has a funny way
Of playing tricks on you,
Whatever you think you know,
Are you certain of it too?

My 'Get Up And Go' Just 'Got Up And Went'

My ‘Get Up and Go’
Just ‘Got Up and Went’
It wasn’t intentional,
It must have been Heaven sent.
