Dreaming 'Neath The Flowering Lemon Tree

We'll dream 'neath the flowering lemon tree
Just the two of us - no one else allowed.
In your hair, I'll shake the blossoms from the boughs.
II
We'll dream 'neatht the flowering lemon tree-
I'll spy your dimpled knee,
As you pour tea-hot & spicy.
III
We'll return when the fruit hangs ripe from the tree-
We'll bring lemon squash & rosey apple sauce;
And play a game of ring toss.
IV
Death comes for the old lemon tree-
We reminisce before our fire,
And take tea with desire.
