Dreams

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

love this sooo much fav already
Such a great piece of poetry. It is a great sorrow for me, you have stopped so short of verses. You have the subject, you the poet have the talent to write so much. You not only can give the world really great poetry, you give us something worthwhile to think about, the subject matter (Dreams for one) is important and meaningful. Ron.

Simplicity at its best. Hughes had a way of doing that in a lovely and highly intelligent manner.
