Drinking In The Afternoon

Poem By Alc Harris

Furtive glances out the window,
Blood red devilment
Warms my throat,
To the belly,
While afternoon sunshine
cascades through the curtains.
I’ll surely go to hell for this,
But its an opportunity
Not to be missed.
Just a sip
Turns into dizzy
Just the red…
I should be busy
Doing something less like me.
Doing something we would approve…
Not drinking in the afternoon.

Read some of your stuff. You have a storytelling talent Rusty
one of life's gereat guilty pleasures! ! (don't let it turn into a habit, though, you never know WHERE it might lead! !) Great poem - Jon.
We done...with the perfect ending....I'll read more for sure.
