Drugs (2)

Poem By Michael P. Johnson

It’s hard alone, to win the fight
This too is Satan’s plan
But they who seek Salvation’s Light
Will find in Christ, they can!

Opium, Pot, Heroin, Glue
Ecstasy, crack and such
There’s nothing God cannot undo
For Him no trial's too much

Addiction; is like mental rape
A simile not unreal
A cage from which there’s no escape
A need to lie and steal

Once hooked, how can it ever end?
Blinded and so deceived
In drugs, one thinks to find a friend
By whom one won’t be grieved

To fantasize, to ease the pain
The devil’s there to “push”
Drinking, smoking, filling a vein
To get the longed for “rush”

The extra edge one’s looking for
The crutch to feel secure
Dependent, craving more and more
Buy cannot find a cure

Life’s problem, just won’t go away
Through drifting puffs of smoke
Hell’s demons must be faced each day
With something more than “Coke”

If man own self; would abnegate
On Christ alone, depend
Who in God’s presence come and wait
Will see the torment end…

I Trust In Jesus

Before this body turns to dust
Before this world I leave
Upon The Lord I’ve placed my trust
Upon The Rock I’ll cleave

Wars, Wars, Wars

There’s so much hatred round the place
The world seems not to care
For though we travel into space
There’s fighting in the air

A Cry In The Dark

How deep in life I had to fall
Living a constant lie
But then with back against the wall
I couldn't help but cry

A Word To Parasites

Some spend themselves though never groan
Whilst Jesus' sheep they feed
They deem God's money not their own

{1} The Spirit’s Touch

“Lord, let my praise scale Your mountain
Let Your grace be a fountain
Allow Your truth fill unsaved ears
There to abide eternal years

How foolish are your songs of pride
When Jesus seeks to come inside
Humble yourself reject your shame
Receive my Spirit’s purging flame
