Dying Heart

Moving soul I want to see;
There are just so many things I want to say;
Moving soul as you come close to me;
Perhaps I’ll tell them to you another day.

The bat of lashes singes my sight;
The hum of vocals burns my ears;
The shine of eyes eases my blight;
The curve of smile erases my fears.

The lashes blink and get me turning;
The voice plays and gets me humming;
The eyes fall on me and get me churning;
The smile spreading is oh so numbing.

My lashes blink in half concealed surprise;
My smile spreading is one that’s shied;
My eyes look at you and see their demise;
My heart once burning within has died.

My voice quickly begins to gasp;
My eyes turn around to look away;
My heart, quickening, begins to rasp;
My voice really has nothing to say.

Moving soul I want to see;
There are just so many things I want to say;
Moving soul as you come close to me;
Perhaps I’ll tell them to you another day.
