Yes, I love Edinburgh
The smells, the sights, the sounds
The Festival, autumnal August
Wonderful. The crowds up on the Mound

Folk cheered. A juggler lit his torch
Milling people went and came
Down the Royal Mile. And I saw
Edinburgh - A place of international fame

And towering tenements, and creepy closes
And tartan kilts, and cobbled street
Nobody looking out of place
When artistic people meet

And in that moment a notion came
Into my head and in my heart
My Scotland has a big role to play
In the global world of art
