Elsa

Poem By Cherry jump

Drowning in the crowd
I wave my hand in a farewell gesture
As you walk ever into
The ocean of faces
I’m hoping that you see me waving
So that at least you’ll know
I’m really gonna miss you
But your back is already turned

And I recall a story from my childhood
Upstairs neighbor
Upstairs cat
I’m trying hard to remember
Now what was her name?

Another way
Just one more day
Until I get out of here
You’re buried under rocks in my backyard
Cold
Your hands feel cold on me

Elsa
Elsa
I am
Keep me close please
Elsa
Elsa
Always
I’m always watching

A chrome colored corpse
Floating slightly out of my reach
Now all I hear is your whisper
And even that’s too loud
Not the who
The when
Or the why

With enough food and water
To last for thirty days
I know eventually it’s gonna run out
Upstairs neighbors
Upstairs cat
Someone please tell me what her name was

Just one more day
And one more way
O my bleeding sky
You said don’t worry cause I’ll be back
But I’ve waited here so long
My fingers have fallen off

Just a chrome colored corpse
But I’m not afraid anymore
I’m fading into the darkness
This sticky darkness
That I can’t lift my feet up
To reach the sky
Not the who
The when
Or the why
Not even the why

Elsa
Elsa
I am
Elsa
Elsa
Always

So throw me into the darkness
Sometimes it feels good
To just
Let go
This fadingly brightening
Wonderfully frightening darkness
Now all I hear is your whisper
And even that’s too loud

A chrome colored corpse
Floating slightly out of my reach
Now all I hear is your whisper
And even that’s too loud
Not the who
The when
Or the why

Now all I hear is your whisper
Not the who
The when
Or the why

Not even the why
