Empty Pockets

I can't afford to lose you now,
But I can't afford to stay,
No matter what you've said to me,
You always made me pay.
I can't afford to feel this pain,
It's making my heart sore,
I can't afford to open up,
When your knocking at my door.
I already paid the price,
Of letting you back in,
And now you've brought me down again,
And I feel that I have sinned.
I can't afford to love again,
For I fear you've left me poor,
Not a bit of richness remains in my heart,
I feel I can love no more.
I can't aford to lose you though,
But I can't afford to stay,
No matter what you say to me,
I know I'll always have to pay.
