Endemic Doubt

Endemic doubt is an unselfish gift
that independent thinkers give the world.
Tectonic plates, when God creates a rift,
are his unselfish gift to make sure we are whirled
around the universe, not certain that
tomorrow there’ll be land where we now dwell.
Without doubt all the world would be so flat
that we’d confuse our purgatory with hell.
