Envy

Envy

I envy the moonbeam,
That lights your face.
The morning mist,
That caresses your lips.
Even cool water you sip.
The tear in your eye,
The breath you sigh.
The butterfly that lands on your head.
The wrinkled sheets on your bed.
I envy music that finds
Your resting place,
Foods you love and taste.
Dreams invading your sleep.
I confess it pains me to share.
You are my life!
It is you I covet,
I want no other,
My darling,
My dearest,
My wife.
