When the night is as quiet
as a sleeping baby's breath,
my mind grows curious
about her whereabouts and well-being.
I don't know what accident of fate
or eternally-written plan of destiny
brought her delicately-beautiful face into my gaze
but now there is no escape
to uttering supplication for her
to deities known and unknown.
Every existence is as fragile
as a summer flower petal in the rain.
My own life may become an extinguished candle
while she is still dancing in the world of smiles,
but still my heart worries for her with concern
at any vague hint of her unhappiness.
