First Kiss

Adolescent effervescence,
A bubbling first kiss.
Expectation that reigns
Between goosebumps and pain.
Too descriptive to mention
This maiden so fine.
Could she acquiesce
To someone my kind?
With eyes ever closed
I glanced off her nose,
Landing on lips of cherries.
Was it really so great?
And how did it taste?
Like braces and recent blueberries.
Discipline Parental love,
Rarely denied.
Some compassion,
Pertinent pride.
Seems a bit odd
When disputes arise,
The Devil and God
Are both on their side.
