First We Take Manhattan

They sentenced me to twenty years of boredom
For trying to change the system from within
I'm coming now, I'm coming to reward them
First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin.

I'm coming now, I'm coming to reward them First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin. thinking that leads to great poetic expression. tony
'Twenty years of boredom' not nice. To take Manhattan and Berlin is quite another matter.
This is only the first stanza of a longer song. It only gives a hint of what the song is like.
I'm coming now, I'm coming to reward them First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin. sarcastic and meaningful. tony.. lost hopes too.
Amazing words by Leonard Cohen.
