Fooling

I said
'You remember the time
you fooled me
into kissing the fat girl.
You said she hadn't
long to live, and I kissed her? '

He laughed, and so did I.
'Yeah? '

'Well thanks,
you did me a favour.'

His smile evaporated
but I hadn't fooled him.

Yes, cryptic indeed. I like it. Simple and funny.
a bit cryptic this one James...by that, I mean that I was unsure what to make of the ending. perhaps, you fooled me! I'll read all your other poems and send you an e-mail.
