Poem Hunter
For Her Love

For Her Love

Swinging palms rise tall
Sun stays calm- a revolving ball
Deserted dale sleeps flat
She walks the street with a strong heart

Shadows fall dark on ground
Trees make swishing sound
Ripples die in the edge of the river
She had hope to meet her lover

Floating clouds disperse in bunches
Fruits hang heavy from branches
Foxes shake cold from the fur
Hope and love begin to rise in her

Crowd look at her in surprise
Seeking man of love is not wise
Years have gone since they parted
Yearning to be united is not yet sated

Silence reigns over fields and shakes
Worms writhe into holes and cracks
Whisper flows thick in dust and heat
Love pure and holy she did never meet

Water runs thick on river bed
Crows sit on trees demur and sad
Him from penury she could not save
Her body was found by an unnamed grave.

Poignant story nicely narrated.
well written- like the imagery.
