Forth Coming Summer
When summer comes
by Daphne Grant
And daises on green lawns appear
And chestnut candles stand high apon the bow,
And ladies lightly clad; some dream endear,
Shall I sit and watch the bee take nectar
from those yellow flowers?
Will you then think of me
Or having other pastimes to pursue,
Forget that you and I were true,
Others will walk by and make their dreams,
While making memories too.
I have not forgotten you
Unwanted: part of yesterday,
Perhaps I'd better stay away.
