Fortune And Fame

Poem By DEBORAH MAPLES

Some people are blessed with fortune and fame
known for their riches and not their name.
That live in luxery with silver and gold
and have all the money their pockets can hold.
For fortune and fame is an inheritance trait
that is handed down on a silver plate.

Their are people who struggle and strive
to make ends meet to live and survive.
For their fortune and fame is the pay they earn
by their skills of experience is the lesson they learn.
For fortune and fame is a generation trait
that is handed down on an ancestor's plate.

Blessed are the people with inheritance of gold
for they do not know a poor man's road.
Blessed are the people who struggle and strive
for they do not know a rich man's tribe.
Fortune and fame is a generation trait
handed down from our family's plate.
