Freedom

We made it
Gone through darkened days and dimmed lives
But persisted onwards through the shit
To not allow ourselves to be deprived

Showing up for work is only half of it
We put in time, work, sweat, and love
Even when our hearts were screaming for the first aid kit
We looked onward and forward towards that holy dove

And now we stand on the steps of liberty
Revived with new breath and direction
We have awakened the long dead chivalry
As we march on under our newly found protection

Let glory ring in the birth of life to our cause
See now the reward for effort and conviction
As we have rewritten a new set of laws
Against the pessimistic prediction

We are Free
Roaming among the wildflowers and sunlight
A war won after much death and debris
So let us live on and love all, for this is the end of this fight.
