Soothing and gentle
your calming presence.
Extending your hands
To ease the thuds
Of my fall.
Sleeping in the quilt
Of tangled dreams
We woke up to the
Facts of a sordid life.
Covering your wounds
With baggy clothes
Of jokes and smiles;
Tending mine with a
Heart of steel
And balms to heal,
Burns of deceit
And lesions of defeat.
Let me
Anoint you with the
Milk of moon.
Vibrant hopes of
A silent prayer.
To take my share
And feed you forever.
