Frightened Of Spiders

I was always frightened of spiders

I thought because
I was frightened of spiders.

I remember well
Being
small &
Frightened by a spider
smaller still
sitting in sand
Running over my white hand
held firm
by mother’s love
To stop me
Being
frightened of spiders

I was frightened of spiders
Because I thought
I was frightened of spiders.

Until you
Showed me more.
Always is not forever.

I was frightened of spiders

(I’m not anymore) .
