Frigid Winter Storm

Poem By Marilyn Lott

It was a very frigid winter
Plagued with an icy storm
We donned our warmest clothes
Desperately trying to keep warm

A solid sheet of ice
Attacked the fences and trees
Everything just stopped moving
Our world dropped to its knees

The landscape was transformed
Took on an astonishing look
And the temperatures made it
Into the record books

All cattle and other animals
Suffered unmercifully
Had to be strong and healthy
It was very plain to see

Branches were weighted down
With all that wintry ice
Stay inside and keep warm, folks
Would be my strong advice!
