God's Whispers

Poem By Marilyn Lott

Soon with spring we will hear
The soft whispering sound
Of gentle wind that blows though
Pink and white trees all around.

It will be like snow as the petals
From the cherry springtime trees
Drift around us as we walk
From our heads down past our knees.

I'll bet that God will be smiling
As his sweet bees and birds
Frolic in the sunshine
Oh, how I love God's whispers.

Comments about God's Whispers

The poet is a great admirer and lover of nature, so much so that its beauty in its countless shades and colours appear to have been ordained by some divine power. Thank you, Marilyn.

A Child’s Mind

The world is wide with wonder
For everything is new
A child’s mind is like a sponge
Or like a flower sipping morning dew

Three ducks pecked around
In a garden one warm day
They wore beautiful coats
Of white feathers to display

He works so hard every day
Doing pretty much what he’s told
The days slowly turn into years
As his life carefully unfolds

Sometimes I kind of feel sad and bored
So I decide to have a little chat with the Lord
I tell Him just what has been bothering me
I know He understands and He will see

He is a beautiful kitty cat
Frank is his name
And around the barnyard
He has risen to fame

A Bologna Sandwich?

I love a hamburger that is cooked just right
Sliced tomato, onion and a pickle too
A sandwich of chicken or turkey is nice
So many choices that we can pursue
