Golden Slumbers Kiss Your Eyes

Golden slumbers kiss your eyes,
Smiles awake you when you rise ;
Sleep, pretty wantons, do not cry,
And I will sing a lullaby,
Rock them, rock them, lullaby.
Care is heavy, therefore sleep you,
You are care, and care must keep you ;
Sleep, pretty wantons, do not cry,
And I will sing a lullaby,
Rock them, rock them, lullaby.

My Mum used to sing this to me as a child lovely words xx
haha the Beatles and also dodie love it
My mother sang this to me when i was a baby
If people come here only to read the poem that inspired the Beatles' song, then they might also take the time to look at other English poets of the Elizabethan age, which I believe to be the golden age of English poetry.
I think Mr. Douglas is only joshing. Actually, doesn't Paul McCartney sing 'Golden Slumbers FILL your eyes? ' In any case, the Beatles put Thomas Dekker on the map, for those interested enough in the lyrics to do a little research.
