Good Morning

The morning comes to open eyes,
When breakfast wakes my son,
The two of us we slowly race,
While trying not to run,

The morning can be difficult,
Although a brand new day,
To talk about what must be done,
Before he's on his way,

I never thought that someone else,
Would be my world you see,
I want to show the way to go,
A better path than me,

Advice is easy to hand out,
Though difficult to hear,
I only ask of him one thing,
To open just one ear,

Great is in his nature,
He is the only one,
With endless possibilities,
This father loves his son,

So now and then we disagree,
It happens to us all,
But I'll be there to help him up,
Whenever he may fall.
