Goodbye Ghosts

Back home again,
I wonder –
'What did I just do? '
I love you too much to lie.
So, I tell you, all –
and hope you understand.
Substitutes don't really count –
do they?
Variety is the spice of life,
so they say.
So, who's they?
And why am I content with you?
You're all that really counts.
Faces keep slipping by.
(the ghosts of temporary visitors)
Yours is the one that sticks.
(keeping the ghosts just that)
(temporary)
Like the Four once said,
'Love is all you need.'
And you are all I need.
No wondering about it.
I love you now
and for all time.
