Gossip Deposited

Poem By Lawrence S. Pertillar

Nothing but gossip deposited.
To market a nothing they've got.
Brain drained.
From the same played out games.
Growing older.
And it shows.
In their minds.
No one holds.
That these times have left them behind.
With nothing but gossip deposited.
From morning 'til noon 'til night.
Minds are locked.
On that gossip.
As the clock.
Tick tocks.
Love they do.
To pass judgement.
On the people they knew in schools.
Leaving nothing but gossip deposited.
With their brains drained.
Growing older.
And this shows.
These are people with nowhere to go.
There they are.
Minding business.
Business that isn't theirs to mind.
Telling others.
What they should do.
But doing that for themselves they don't have time.
Nothing but gossip deposited.
In and out.
And about.
With nothing but gossip deposited.
In the past.
They exist.
As if the past has benefits,
To live it.
As if the past has benefits,
To live it.
Brain drained.
As if the past has not moved on.
