Grandpa’s Cotton

Poem By Marilyn Lott

I love to look back into the past
Via photographs from my collection
They bring back such memories
And they jar my recollection

My parents always working
Mom fixing a delicious meal
Clara and Robert so very young
Photos have that ‘yesterday’ feel

Dad out feeding the cattle
Dressed warm for the winter cold
Years have flown by so fast
So many stories left untold

And then there was Granpa’s Cotton
Beautiful, fluffy and white
There was nothing ever quite like it
I found it such a pleasant sight

So pull out your pictures of the past
Jog memories that you’ve forgotton
You’ll smile the way I do
When I see photo’s of Grandpa’s Cotton!
