I don’t want a graveyard girl
by Charlie F. Kane
Or someone I have to resurrect.
A graveyard girl holds courts
For the corpses she doesn’t know.
See, the graveyard girls hold a mirror to my face,
But I don’t languish in the spaces they do.
The graveyard girl soon met ambulance boy,
Who ships her fresh limbs to play with.
I guess she’s smiling now,
With a better man by her side,
I could not pretend to be one of the dead,
Because I’m still very much alive.
I bear no ill to graveyard girls,
I’ve even woed some in my prime,
I’m just an old soul passing through the line
Till I find a burning ember girl
To stay with till the end of the line.
