Great Salt Lake

Oh; you great; you big lake;
When I look down at the waves
Of your nearly liveless contens;
I see how far above all of us
Living mortals you really are.

You are caring and loving
Like a mother that is looking
After all the children she holds in her arms.
You are viscious and angry like a troop;
An army; going to war.

You are good to us;
And yet so bad sometimes.
And we earned it; yes we did.
We are robbing your salt;
We are poisening you.
And someday you'll just be
A normal lake.

And then; some centuries to go;
Our great; great grand children will say:
Our ancestors must have been
