Guilt

I can only pretend
that I'll be okay
I will honestly promise
that I'll lie every day

My smiles aren't as real
as you'd like them to be
My laughs so pretend
You hate feeling guilty

If they were as real
as the tears that I cry
if the blood that I shed
was as fake as the lie

If the scars in my heart
healed like on my skin
You wouldn't feel responsible
for all that you did

All the lies all the ploys
that the player had played
I should have known all along
You'd never have stayed.
