Halloween

Poem By Jarrod Harris

The creepy chills, Autumn is passing
The trees are bare, for what are they giving
Protection from the night?
But why?
Imagination?
It is yours
The sounds of the night
The ticking of the clock
The beating of your heart
Haunted?
How absurd
You hear the rusting of the leaves
Yet the leaves are gone
You hear someone just outside
Yet your home alone
Protection from the night?
Why?
Protection from yourself?
Maybe
Your hearts own beat is the loudest of all
As you make your way down the hall
A chuckling is heard as you open the door
Only on this night could this not chill you to the core.
A goblin jumps out with Frankenstein and Spiderman
Trick-or-treat the goblin says as they all hold out their hands.
