Halved

Poem By Lori Boulard

I wander nomadically around our room
awkward and homeless in our bed

All things familiar seem foreign and far
my space widening uncomfortably

The phone rings, and your voice
right then reconnects the halves

I hang up whole, catch a wink
from a star dying light years away.

I am always cautious around love poems because they are so very difficult to do well, but I think you have done a good job here. I love how the moon and the lover are addressed as one, and I really love the opening abd closing lines. Well done.
what a wonderful poem Lori.. so romantic! I'm glad that the halves meet.. :) HBH
I love the reconnection Lori, it very comforting. Nice poem. Sincerely Ernestine
Everyone likes a different line, and there are many good ones to like. Mine is, 'All things familiar feel foreign and far.' Keep those couplets rolling along.
I loved the line philandering moon. Good write.
