Hanged

Poem By Jon Edward Walker

Like the raccoon
that has chosen to hang itself above
my head since shortly after I was born
I feel trapped and lonely
out on a limb hidden
behind a mask
given to me by god.
my background is blank,
faded from the years
and the dirt on it
I am
framed,
caged
by something I made
and broke with my own two hands
