Happy Miranda

Smiles at school.
Hidden pain behind laughter
Head down in her bedroom.

Mom was yelling.
Father was screaming.
Miranda only thinking.

Scars on her body would tell
A silent story of sadness.
A river of unseen tears would tell
A quiet story of complex pain.

9mm would begin the end.

Mom stopped yelling.
Dad stopped screaming.
Miranda stopped hurting.

She wouldnt have to hide smiles anymore
Because she was gone
No more laughing lies for pains sake
Because she left them for the world to deal with.

No more hiding,
No more fear,
Miranda was happy...
