He Ate The Sun

The Sun shown brightly blazing in the midday sky
The man pondered precariously about eating it none knows why
He took a deep breath and looked up bitterly at the radiated glow
He slowly opened clenched teeth to reveal a tongue wet for its foe
With a hunger that bespoke a void that he felt compelled to fill
The man swallowed down the orb like cheap bar room swill
It burned deep into his chest
He felt anger coarse thru his breast
Hot embers burned his skin
loathing leaped from within
His veins pumped the lava towards its goal
molten liquids oozed thru the cavernous hole
once where his heart was, only now fire burned
He ate the Sun
to forget the one
for which his heart once yearned
