Hear Love

see the girl in the corner
the one with the notebook clutched to her chest
see her empty, haunting stare
it's so unfortunate, she thinks she's the best
but she doesn't know her way in
and even if she got in, she wouldn't know her way out
she's blind to the world and thinks people can hear love
the money is what it's all really about

she releases her frown and captures a smile
her boyfriend just came through the door
but he sighs with regret and tells her
'Hannah, I can't pay your rent anymore.'
the lights flicker on the elevator
she's going up to room nine-A
everybody has questions, but she has no answers
all she knows is that she can't stay

she packs up old photographs
she reads old letters from her friends
'Hannah, you should really get a job.'
'Hannah, wake up before your life ends.'
all she leaves are her lover's things
she sees the needles and the plastic bags
spread out at the bottom of the trash can
with crumpled up paper and clearance price tags

she says, 'He can't let this wash our love away...
I told him already this time I will get my break.'
but there are letters from the record companies
none of them could pinpoint any specific mistake
her boyfriend says he's going out, he says
'It's been a week since I've gotten high.'
but she's shaking and crying, and she screams to him,
'You lie, you lie, you lie! '

it's May 27th and she is done with this life
he says, 'I'm so sorry, but you have to go.'
she says, 'You're breaking my heart, but I still love you...
more than you could ever know.'

Beautiful, really touches me deep... If you just did the proper spelling, it would be perfect for competition.
