Hear My Heart Break

I’m mad at the world
Don’t let it in
I just wanna cry
But don’t know where to begin
Everything was so perfect
But got trampled down
My heart longs to touch you
If you listen you’ll hear the sound
Of tears hitting the hardwood floor
The slamming of the bedroom door
The water running from the bath
Why couldn’t the good times last?
These sounds are all I make
I swear I hear my heart break
The sun always sets in the west
I pick up all the pieces left
Why can’t something strong and steady stay like that?
The farther you go
The further I fall
I’ll run to you
Baby I’ll crawl
The least you could do is listen
Maybe you’ll hear the sound
Of tears hitting the hardwood floor
The slamming of the bedroom door
The water running from the bath
Why couldn’t the good times last?
These are all the sounds I make
I know I hear my heart break
Baby can’t you hear my heart break?
