Hope For Hip-Hop (C) (5/23/2010)

I set adrift on the bliss of memory
Such a serene thought with exquisite imagery
The once gold plated mastery with compelling design
For the longest I can remember I needed it mine
Twisted thoughts to the public was reality for me
And I was drawn in like rain with the force of gravity you see
The only thing I could relate to when I had no relationships
Remained hardcore with it’s knowledge but stayed compassionate
Pursued it like a bull after a cinnamon gum wrapper
I knew when I was young that I wanted to check the mics on these rappers
So I waited for time and stared at my wrist watch
While jotting down every rhyme I claimed to be dope
My goal was just keep to hope alive for hip-hop
So hip-hop can be alive for hope

I just wanna keep hope alive for hip-hop
So hip-hop can be alive for hope
