How Could You?

You died and took me with you,
yet it's here that I still stand.
I never thought I'd make it
without you here to hold my hand.
I still cry myself to sleep sometimes,
though rest is hard to find.
I can't wait for death to take me too,
the contract has been signed.
I should have told you everyday
the way I felt 'bout you.
But now you're gone and I'm alone;
why can't I go too?
I want you here beside me,
but it's you that isn't here.
It's this I've always dreaded,
I'm living my worst fear.
I refused to leave this world for you;
why couldn't you do the same?
I've lost the biggest part of me,
and I've only you to blame.
